With over 25 years experience in corporate and private taxation, Richard is a Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Chairs the board of the CA Advisory Group, Fellow of the CEO Institute, and is a Registered Tax Agent. He is a founding Director and Treasurer of Murrup Foundation (formerly Cathy Freeman Foundation) partnering with remote First Nations Communities to deliver educational programs in Queensland and the Northern Territory. Richard is also an acclaimed singer having performed lead roles in Melbourne productions including Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, The Sound of Music, The Producers, Mary Poppins, and Chicago. He is passionate about family groups and “having a seat at the table”, assisting with the design, and implementation, of family strategies to deliver purpose-based outcomes. His dynamic and versatile thinking, combined with a deep understanding of the background of the family, enables Richard to achieve successful outcomes for his family groups.

Jeff Thomas – Founder
In 1981, Jeffrey Thomas & Peter Jackson formed Jeffrey Thomas & Partners (JT&P), a full-service Melbourne CBD Chartered Accounting Firm. Jeff was Managing Partner of JT&P until his retirement in 2011, at which time his son Richard Thomas was appointed to the role. During his time at JT&P, Jeff grew the firm to a practice of 5 Partners and 30 staff with services covering audit, tax, business advisory & consulting, mergers & acquisitions, and financial services. JT&P was also a member of Polaris International, an international network with offices around the globe. Jeff chaired the Asian Region of Polaris International during his time at JT&P and grew the local network within Australia and New Zealand.
He has served, or still serves, on several Boards including:
